Microbiologgists are people who have specialization in the field of Microbiology. They are scientists who study organisms and infectious agents that can't be seen with the care eye. They study the interactions of microorganisms with humans and other organisms that exist and affect our lives.

There is vast scope in the field of microbiology due to the advancement in the field of science and technology. The scope in this field is immense due to the involvement of microbiology in many field like :

Medicine
Pharmacy
Dairy Industry
Clinical Research
Water Industry

Qualification

Qualifications Specific to Job

  • An undergraduate degree in microbiology gives you the opportunity to work at science laboratories and pathology labs.
  • If you have a Post Graduate Degree in Microbiology, you can work in microbiology based industries like pharmacy, dairy, breweries, distilleries, enzyme etc. and you can also pursue PhD.
  • Students who complete PhD can take up teaching in universities and PG colleges. They can also take up a post-doctoral research.

Training

Internal Training

The educational enrichment through training program not only makes one a perfect professional, but also creates magnificent exposure to continue with further studies in sharpening one's skills and get an upper hand in the competitive world. The total training procedure was designed as two fundamental parts; soft skill and hard skill programs. The soft skill program was conducted by the CRC faculty members of 20 hrs. and the hard skill program was conducted by the Microbiology faculties with total of 40 hrs.

In the beginning of the course, operations and troubleshooting of Autoclave, Laminar air flow, Cold Centrifuge, Spectrophotometer, Incubator, Hot air oven, Vortex shaker, weighing machine, Microscopes, Refrigerator were studied. In the next module, in the Laboratory Management, proper protocol of managing a lab organization training was given by designing the logbooks of chemicals, equipments, and instruments.

Another important training is Computational biology where students are taught about the genomics with the help of computational tools. ARNOLD, FASTA, BLAST, NCBI. We are collaborating with various diagnostic sectors for conducting training that would enhance more alleys of placement possibilities to the students.
