Bachelor of Library and Information Science(B LISc)(Duration-One Year)
Library and Information Science is a systematic process of organizing and maintaining books, magazines and journals. Library science deals with categorization of knowledge and information. An individual who is engaged in this profession is known as librarian. There are lots of career opportunities available for library science professionals. Librarians are information providers. They help people in finding information effectively. Initially, a graduate starts with a job title of a library assistant and gets promoted gradually. Qualified librarians in this field can seek employment in academic institutions, schools, government and public libraries, news and broadcasting agencies, universities and in private libraries. Graduates with B LISc degree are eligible for the post of Librarian at Schools. Candidates with Post Graduate degree or M LISc degree are eligible for libraries at Colleges and Universities with same pay structure as professors.
